Trace Heating for Pipes

Electric trace heating, also known as electric heat tracing, heat tape or surface heating, is a system used to maintain or raise the temperature of pipes and vessels.

Trace heating takes the form of an electrical heating element run in physical contact along the length of a pipe. The pipe must then be covered with thermal insulation to retain heat losses from the pipe. Heat generated by the element then maintains the temperature of the pipe. Trace heating may be used to protect pipes from freezing, or to maintain process temperatures for piping that must transport substances that solidify at ambient temperatures.

A temperature controller may be used to manage the temperature of the liquid.

Self Regulating Heating Wire

Self Limiting Cables
The self-limiting heating cables are mainly used for ice and snow melting on roofs, in gutters and down pipes, frost protection of pipes and for temperature maintenance of hot water supply.

Using self-limiting heating cables is very flexible as the cables can be cut to length on site due to the parallel power supply of the cables. The self-limiting capability of the cable ensures that the output of the cable increases or decreases according to ambient temperature.

Heater rating: 21 Watt/m at 220 V.

Packaging: The wire is available in lengths from 2 m to 9 m with termination leads fitted.

A temperature-dependant resistive element between two parallel copper conductors regulates and limits the heat output of the heating cable according to the ambient temperature. If the ambient temperature rises, the heat output of the heating cable is reduced. This self-limiting property prevents overheating even when the cables are overlapped. A temperature limiter is not generally necessary not even for Ex areas.

Thanks to the parallel power supply the entire heating circuit is supplied with 230 V which allows the heating cable to be cut and installed to any required length. BARTEC-HEAT PSB is available with different power outputs and outer protective covers. The protective outer jacket of either fluoropolymer or polyolefin protects the inner copper braiding from corrosion and chemical attack.

The copper braiding serves as an earth conductor in accordance with VDE 0100 and also increases the mechanical stability of the cable. Under the protective braiding are two synthetic jackets providing electrical insulation. The inner of the two jackets is thermally fused to the heating element (bonded jacket).

Electro-Flex Heating

Constant Wattage

Constant wattage heater cable is ideal for use in maintaining fluid flow under low ambient conditions. Freeze protection and process temperature maintenance systems such as product pipelines, fire protection, process water, dust suppression systems, lube oil, condensate return, hot water and structure de-icing are typical applications for this product.

APPLICATION: Constant Wattage heating tape is used on pipes and vessels to heat up fluids.

INSULATION: Constant Wattage heating tape are insulated with Silicone rubber. a Metal braiding is optional.

Parallel Heating Wire

APPLICATION: Parallel heating tape is used on pipes and vessels to heat up fluids.

INSULATION: Parallel heating tape are insulated with Silicone rubber. a Metal braiding is optional.

External Drain-Line Heaters

APPLICATION: External drain-line heaters are used to heat up pipes to maintain the flow of the fluids in the pipes. It is extremely flexible and easy to install.

INSULATION: External drain-line heaters are insulated with Silicone rubber.

SPECIFICATIONS: Operational temperatures of -40C to +180C.

HEATER RATING: 21 Watt/m at 220 V.

PACKAGING: The wire is available in lengths from 2 m to 9 m with termination leads fitted.


Internal Drain-Line Heaters

APPLICATION: Internal drain-line heaters are used to heat up pipes to maintain the flow of the
fluids in the pipes. It is 100% waterproof.

INSULATION: Internal drain-line heaters are insulated with Silicone rubber.

SPECIFICATIONS: Operational temperatures of -60C to +160C.

HEATER RATING : 40 Watt at 230 V.

PACKAGING : Pre-Packaged units is available in lengths from 0.25m to 70m.100 rolls are available with termination kits
