| Choose the correct thermostat for you |
The DIY kit comes with a choice between two high quality thermostats.
The Danfoss 132 offers you a simple elegant design with enduring product quality while accurately controlling your room temperature.
The world patented Danfoss 550 is the most advanced thermostat available in the South Africa market. Where other thermostats simply switch on and off, the Danfoss 550 offers and advanced 'set and forget' computerised programming schedule. |

With the easy to use program, the system can be programmed for every day of the year with up to 336 timer setting per week! Thanks to the superior computerised technology the Danfoss 550 adapts and learns about the specific condition of the room in which you place it.
Truly a 'set and forget' system allowing YOU to decide on YOUR own comfort level and energy bill. |

| Make sure you are protected |

The most important part of fault detection is fault prevention, which is managed through a community monitor. This is temporarily connected to the heating mat until the tiling is completed. If the wire is broken or damaged, an alarm sounds. This can be repaired by using the Repair kit with instructions available from your CTM store. |

| Plan the layout of the mat in the room |

The layout is easily defined and achieved by following
these simple steps:
- Start by measuring the free surface area and make a sketch of the room, indicating the position of the thermostat.
- Add the layout of the mat to the drawing. The
length of the mat is shown on the table above, while it is 0.5m wide. Remember the mat must start and end at the wall where it started.
- If more than on e mat is used, please make sure that all the wires come together at the thermostat.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Install the senosr Cable |
Cut a channel approximately 10mm deep and wide in the wall and the floor, from the thermostat and around 1m out into the floor. Glue the flexo pipe for the sensor into this channel, and seal the end of the pipe with a piece of tape |
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Lay the mat |
Clean the floor thoroughly, removing all dirt and soap residue, then lay out the self adhesive cable mat. The floor surface will need to be primed if you are not laying the mat on existing tiles. |
Clip through the grey netting to turn the mat over - but make ure that you do not cut through the red cable! |
Turn the mat and position it as required. The self-adhesive effect can withstand 10-20 adjustments, so you can move the mat several times until you are satisfied with the result. |
If more than one mat was used, make sure all the wires come together where the thermostat will be fitted. |
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Electrical Wires |
Make sure the Blue and Black wire come to the same point in the room where the Thermostat will be fitted |
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Connect the Screamer |
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Tile |
Use a notched trowel to cover the table mat with the adhesive and press the tiles into position ... and press the tiles (or other floor covering) into position. |
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Conduit |
Fit the trunking to the wall. This must be done close to an existing plug. Place the 2 cold tails of the heating mat in the trunking. |
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Connect the Thermostat |
Fit the Thermostat to the wall |
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Connect to the Power |
Fit these ends of the Thermostat. Connect the earth wires to the earth protection.
NB! Connection to the power supply may ONLY be carried out by an authorised electrician. |
